A wise man once said, “It requires an orchestra to compose a symphony”, and it seems quite valid for any man alive. | find myself short of words to sum up the contribution of all those who played a role in making me what I am today. I pay my tribute in all the glorious words to my grandfather Abdul Hamid whotook keeninterest in my academics till he breathed his last. He was first mentor who inculcated in me the love for books. I want to thank my major supervisor, Prof. Dr. Lal Badshah who remained a source ofinspiration from the time of designing the topic till the completion ofthis manuscript. Time spent with him during the study trips to study area will make an integral componentof my nostalgia for years to come. I feel proud to have Prof. Dr. Farrukh Hussain as my co-supervisor. A man of international repute and recognition, guided me during the course ofthis research work and gave inputs which madethis dissertation a success. Thank youSir.
