    Words are bound and knowledge is limited to praise Allah, the most Beneficent, the Merciful, Gracious and the Compassionate whose bounteous blessing and exaltation flourished my thoughts and thrived my ambition to have the cherish fruit of my modest efforts in the form of this dissertation from the blooming spring of blossoming knowledge. My special praise for the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the greatest educator, the everlasting source of guidance and knowledge for humanity. He taught the principles of morality and eternal values. I deem it a great honor to express my deepest sense of gratitude to my honorable and estimable supervisor Prof. Dr. Ghias Uddin (Foreign Professor, Institute of Chemical Sciences, University of Peshawar), for his kind and able guidance, valuable comments, inspiring and encouraging attitude throughout the course of my studies. I do not find appropriate words to express my deep sense of obligation to my Ex-research supervisor, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Arfan, for their valuable guidance, sympathetic behavior and persistent encouragement. Not forgotten, my appreciation to my co-supervisor, Prof. Dr. Farzana Shaheen (HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi) for providing me access to all the available facilities in the institute. I would like to express my deepest sincere gratitude to Prof. Thomas J. Simpson, Prof. Russell J. Cox and Dr. Craig Butts (School of Chemistry, University of Bristol, UK) for giving me a unique opportunity to work in their laboratories. Their continuous guidance, invaluable suggestions, affectionate encouragement, generous help and important acumen are greatly acknowledged. I feel great indulgence to state my indescribable thanks to my encouraging, cooperative and learnt supervisor Prof. Dr. Ghias Uddin (Foreign Professor, Institute of Chemical Sciences, University of Peshawar) whose personal interest, proper guidance and important advices, suggestions and discussions enable me to successfully complete my research work. The research work illustrate in the current study would have never been accomplished without the crucial and continuous support of my co-supervisor Prof. Dr. Bina Shaheen Siddiqui (HEJ Research institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi) who provided me advanced research facilities available to any student of the Institute.
