Study of Physico Chemical and Biological Treatment Facilities for the Industrial Waste Water of Hayatabad Peshawar Pakistan
(DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES, 2009) Zahid Ullah; Supervisor By: Dr. Hizbullah Khan
Water, being the basic physiological necessity, is vital to all life on the earth. We use water not only for drinking purposes but also for bathing, heating, agriculture, fishing, cooling and industrial processes. In Pakistan water quality is deteriorating day by day due to increase in population, and improper disposal of industrial waste water. Industries play a vital role in the socio-economic developmentofan area. Industries also have some adverse impacts on the human and physical environment in creating pollution problems due to mismanagement and lack ofpreplanning. The untreated industrial effluents of Hayat Abad Industrial Estate (HIE) find their way to fresh water bodies of NWFP. Due to adverse effects caused by water pollution, therefore it is essential to give greater consideration to know the magnitude and strength of pollution in industrial waste water.
