Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to develop certain strategies for improving University Education. There has been a constant decline in the existing standards of education at graduate level, the researcher intended to find out the causes for decline and suggest measures for improvement. For the present study four hundred subjects were selected at random from Science and Humanities groups (male and female) from six degree colleges of Peshawar. The two tests, viz., Teachers’ Rating Scale and Survey of Study Habits and Study Attitudes were administered one after another. The test results reflect the strengths and weaknesses of teachers as assessed by their students. The data yield information concerning study habits and attitudes of students towards their studies. The results revealed that lack of student teacher communication and unfair attitude of the teachers are the factors which create dis-satisfaction among students. Moreover, faulty study habits of the students lead to low academic standards.
