Abstract
First of all I would like to thank Allah who blessed me with good health and intellect to
carry out and complete this work. It is all because of his blessings that I have reached this
level of knowledge in the field of chemistry.
I am truly indebted to my parents and family members whose prayers and support have
enabled me to complete this stupendous work. I am very greatful to my affectionate and
cooperative supervisor, Prof Dr. M. Rafiullah Khan for his sincere cooperation and
guidance.
I would also like to thank my supervisors Dr. Valerie. A. Ferro and Prof Dr. Alexander
Irvine Gray (SIPBS, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow UK.) for their guidance and
help especially in the interpretation of 1D and 2D NMR spectra, I am also thankful to Dr.
