This thesis explores how the traditional Swabi Chail veil can be reinterpreted to express hidden social issues, especially violence against innocent victims. While the Swabi Chail is usually known for its white cloth and red dotted pattern symbolizing respect, modesty, and protection, this study presents a different perspective by giving new meanings to these visual elements. Violence against women and children, such as domestic abuse, child abuse, abduction, honour killing, and rape often remains hidden in society. Victims suffer silently, and these issues are rarely discussed openly. This project connects these realities with the red dots of the Swabi Chail, transforming them into symbols of pain, fear, sacrifice, and innocent blood rather than simple decoration.Using a practice-based approach, the research combines design thinking with visual storytelling. It includes an illustrated storybook based on the character Meher, along with character development, storyboards, and awareness posters. The visuals are designed in a simple, sensitive, and understandable way to communicate difficult topics, especially for children. This study highlights that graphic design is not only for aesthetics but can also be a powerful tool for social awareness. By reinterpreting the Swabi Chail, the project gives voice to silent victims and encourages society to reflect on and speak about violence more openly.
