Abstract
First, I would like to gratefully acknowledge the enthusiastic supervision
of Dr. Ghias Uddin, Professor of Chemistry, Institute of Chemical Sciences. He
has built a strong, resilient, lively foundation to my career as a chemist and
scientist. He has demonstrated and instilled an endless work ethic and a critical
eye that is never settled. Thank you for believing in my potential and for holding
me up through all odds.
I would like to thank my research co-supervisor Prof. Dr. Muhammad
Iqbal Choudhary, ICCBS (Director), Karachi University, who accepted me into
his laboratory and research group to complete a part of my project under his kind
supervision. He provided me an easy access to all the available facilities at ICCBS
and encouraged me for a good career in Natural Products Chemistry.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart to Dr. Phillip Crews, distinguish
Professor of Chemistry, University of California, Santa Cruz, USA, for providing
the greatest graduate research opportunity under HEC IRSIP program, I could
have ever wished for during my seven months stay. Without his guidance, my
stellar laboratory skills would have never been realized.
I am thankful to Prof. Dr. Imdad Ullah (Director, Institute of Chemical
Sciences) for his help and providing research facilities in the Department.
I ardently extend my thanks to Prof. Dr. Rafiullah Khan and Prof. Dr.
Mohammad Arfan (Ex. Director) for their help and encouraging support.
My honest and humble friend Mr. Ambara Khan (Taxonomist, Degree
College Daggar, Buner) is gratefully acknowledged for the field assistance.
