Tridodecylamine was used as a mobile carrier supported on polypropylene membrane. The transport of arsenic was studied at various parameters such as concentration of carrier, feed, acid, strip reagent, and pH. The aqueous solution of arsenic and hydrochloric acid was used as feed phase and sodium hydroxide as receiving phase. The maximum transfer of arsenic was obtained at 0.1 mol/L of TDDA, 1.0 mol/L of HCl in feed phase, 1.0 mol/L 0f NaOH, at optimum pH 1. The stability of membrane was studied under the optimized conditions. The system was applied for real samples collected from pesticide industry, glass industry, paint industry, wood preservatives, and pharmaceutical industry.enREMOVAL OF ARSENITES FROM INDUSTRIAL EFFLUENTS USING TRIDODECYLAMINE SUPPORTED LIQUID MEMBRANEThesis
